In this day and age it is so hard to be authentic. We find ourselves always trying to one up others on social media. When did we become like this? I follow a lot of blogs and I love everyone I follow. They each have their own unique way of talking to their followers, but at the same time they all wear the same clothes and promote the same products. I am in a group called the Sassy Club on facebook created by a blogger named Dani Austin and it is a great place for girls to ask for advice from people literally all over the world. It feels like a community honestly. One of the posts was a fellow blogger asking what people like to look for when they come to blogs and many people said affordability and they don’t like when top influencers are only showing t-shirts over $100 or jeans over $300. Personally I never spend that much on a t-shirt or a pair of jeans because clothes just don’t mean that much to me.
It can be really hard to relate to people who only were designer clothes or carry Gucci purses on a “casual” day out because that just isn’t me. I love good deals. Don’t get me wrong, I like having quality clothes, but I realistically also have other goals financially than wearing the most expensive outfit. I love shopping and a lot of times I see bloggers wearing something that I absolutely love and then I click on the link and the shirt is $120 dollars. That is just not something I can justify spending on a shirt no matter how cute it is.
Bare with me. After seeing these girls comments in this group, I really felt inspired. I think you should splurge on some items for sure. But I don’t think every outfit needs to be all designer. I never want my readers to see something I am wearing and love it then follow the link and it be an outrageous price because that isn’t who I am. I am wanting to start some new post topics that I haven’t really been on my blog before. So stay tuned! I really appreciate all of the support I have received over the past two years since starting my blog and I want you all to let me know what you want to see from this blog. Whether it be home decor, outfits, or beauty products. Let me know. I love hearing feedback from you all. Thanks for reading XOXO.
P.S. If you haven’t seen it yet, I decided to create a simple t-shirt design to go with my blog so definitely check that out. They come in all different styles, colors, and sizes. I hope you all like them. You can shop them by clicking here: teespring.com/obsessivelygrateful
