Top 5 Recent Favorite Makeup Products

This setting powder has quickly become my favorite. I love how it makes my under eyes look smooth and keeps my concealer from creasing. I had heard good reviews, but decided to try it for myself. I have been using this product since the middle of February and I am pretty impressed. It is in my top favorites along with my RCMA powder, Laura Mercier loose setting powder, and my Coty Airspun from the drug store. I seriously love it and its not ridiculously expensive. Kat von D products are usually spot on. So if you aren’t in to setting powders, maybe try other products from her line!!
First of all, I love the smell of this product. It smells of oranges and instantly wakes me up when I tap it into my undereye. This instantly gives my undereyes a more awake appearance even before applying concealer. I actually got this with my sephora points when I was checking out and I am so glad I tried it because I have never really used eye creams and they are so important to use if you want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as you age and give you a more awake look. I am looking for another under eye product to try so if you have any suggestions on some good options let me know please! I like to rotate out my skin care so my skin doesn’t get used to products so quickly.
This primer also smells so good. It is infused with coconut water so if you like the smell of coconuts then you will love this. I usually apply this and then a pore refining primer in my T-zone and this keeps my makeup in place. I am a religious Too Faced born this way foundation user and this product works very well with that foundation. I don’t think this primer works as well with my Make up Forever Ultra HD foundation, but I usually wear it with the Too Faced foundation. I do think this keeps my skin hydrated which is the most important thing to me when it comes to a primer. I don’t like primers that make my skin feel like clay and it could break at any second. I recommend this primer if you are looking for something to keep your skin hydrated, but keep in mind that it doesn’t work well with some foundations in my opinion. You just have to test it with your favorite foundation!
I am shade y-245 for reference
Speaking of this foundation above. I have been loving this foundation so so much. I had been wanting to try it for the longest time and finally decided to get it before my trip to Phoenix and I am so glad I did. This foundation looks great in photos and makes my skin look flawless. It isn’t the fullest coverage foundation and you definitely have to build it up if you want a heavier coverage. One layer works well for me and it hasn’t made me break out which is a major plus. I have been rotating between this foundation and my Too Faced Born this way foundation. If you are on the fence about trying the MUFE foundation just do it. It feels and looks great on the skin and if you decide you don’t like it, Sephora will gladly let you return it and try something else. Definitely try if you are in the market for a new foundation.
I received this in my recent Sephora Play box and I have really liked it lately. Normally I prefer liquid lipsticks, but when I am in a hurry and want a light addition of color to my lips, I have been adding this. It is shiny, but the nude makes it not look so shiny. It also keeps your lips so nourished. It is a tinted lip balm so it isn’t long lasting and I do not recommend putting a whole lot because if any of it gets in your mouth, it tastes terrible haha! It comes in three other shades and I have really been enjoying this for on the go.
Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend. XOXO

Travel Carry On Bag

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and is ready to begin the week! Only one more work day for me and then Wednesday morning at 3am I will be heading to Nashville to head somewhere that is about 20 degrees warmer than Bowling Green right now. I am so excited to be going on this trip with some of my favorite people. I really enjoy traveling and I actually love flying unlike most people. I like to be prepared and feel comfortable while traveling especially since I will be traveling from Nashville by myself and the rest of my family is flying out of Louisville since that airport is closer to them. I need all of the essentials to make it a smooth travel day. I thought it would be fun to share what is in my carry on back pack.
I really didn’t want to carry a big bag since I will be checking my suitcase. I don’t want to have to carry around a lot of luggage. I wanted something that was hands free that zipped since I have a short layover in Las Vegas and will be walking a lot that day. I found this all black Reaction by Kenneth Cole backpack from Tjmaxx for under $50. I love this back pack because it zips at the top and on the back side so nothing can be easily stolen. It has many compartments inside for organization which I absolutely love.
Here is a list of my essential carry on items that I have in my bag:
1. My MacBook. This is my baby and I absolutely need it to travel.
2. My iPad mini. I love this for watching tv/movies or reading a book, plus I like to play games on it sometimes.
3. My makeup travel pouch. I have it in the Sephora Beauty on the fly bag which you get for free if you buy three or more travel items from Sephora.
4. Pack of Kleenex
5. Orbit Sweet Mint Gum
6. Bose Headphones
7. Wallet
8. My blanket
9.Simple Cleansing wipes (travel pack)
10. Hand Sanitizer (Got to stay away from them airport/plane germs..not pictured)
11. Phone/laptop charger(also not pictured)
12. Too faced Sweet as a Peach bag with my makeup brushes
13. Phone(not pictured)
14. Reaction by Kenneth Cole backpack (LOVE THIS)
16. Sephora sleeping mask (I will actually use this the night before since I have to be up at 2am)
17. Swell water bottle. (Not pictured)
These are my essentials for traveling and things that keep me relaxed for a long day of travel. I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading!!  XOXO.

January Favorites 2017

This past month has been great. I started at D1 which has been my top favorite of January, but since thats not an actual product I can’t take a picture of it. D1 is a gym that I joined at the end of December and I have already seen so many amazing results from going for this whole month that I am excited to continue the journey. If you have any goals for the new year, it is never too late to start. You just have to put in the time and effort to achieve your goals. So I say go for it!

On to my product favorites of the month. My first favorite is my Colourpop brow gel in the shade blondie. This was so inexpensive at only 6 dollars on Colourpop’s website. I like to fill in the sparse area of my brows with this product and it also keeps my brows in place since it dries down. The shade is perfect for me and I have really been loving this over the past month. I do switch up my brow routine a lot and sometimes I don’t even do them, but this product is nice if I am in a hurry. They have multiple shades to choose from and the product hasn’t seemed to have dried. It is still creamy and easy to apply.

My next favorite has been the Balm’s Bahama Mama bronzer. I got this for Christmas from my friend Valerie and I am so obsessed with it. It is such a great shade for my skin tone and lasts all day. I use this just to add some color to my skin or to contour when I am feeling like doing a little extra with my makeup. This is definitely up there with my favorite bronzers and I haven’t even used any other bronzers since I have received this. Such a great product.

Next up is my necklace I got from Forever 21. I love how it looks layered. Lately I have been in to more gold jewelry, but this just looked so pretty and it was under $10 dollars so I had to get it. So pretty and dainty. I love forever 21’s jewelry just because it is so cheap and if I lose it or something on it messes up, I am not losing much. I normally don’t wear a lot of jewelry that is why I never spend much on jewelry because I don’t want it to just lay around not being worn.
My next favorite has been my new Kate Spade wallet.(Linked a similar wallet) I love this wallet because it is so simple and I like that it doesn’t zip, it just snaps together. So many compartments and I have just been loving the simplicity of it. It keeps my wallet organized to where I can’t just throw stuff in and zip it up. I actually have to put it in to the right compartments. Absolutely would recommend this wallet and it comes in so many colors and patterns.
My favorite perfume of life is the Juliette has a gun not a Perfume. I can’t even explain this scent, but nothing compares to how this smells. It is a very expensive perfume and I don’t wear it every day. Just when I am going out or more special occasions. I actually purchased this from scent bird which is a great website where you can get a perfume subscription where you pick out a perfume and they send you a months supply for 14 dollars a month. You can also purchase the a la carte item for 20 dollars. That is what I did. You get .27 oz and since it isn’t my everyday perfume it will last me a long time. Plus the packaging it comes in is so sleek and simple and fits nicely in even the smallest purse. I get so many compliments when I wear this perfume. It is my absolute favorite.
Lastly, I have cut out sodas from my diet. I try not to drink anything with added sugar, but I have to have a sweet tea from time to time. That is my weakness. So for everyday, I stick to water and milk once a day. At night, I like to drink this Tazo Zen green tea. I just add the bag in a cup and use my keurig to add the hot water. It is cheaper to buy the tea bags vs. K-cups just a little tip. 🙂 I drink this before bed and sometimes in the morning. I do not add any sweetener which took me awhile to get used to, but after drinking this for awhile it tastes so good without any added sweetener. If you like green tea, definitely try this. You also get so many more benefits if there isn’t anything extra added to the green tea.
Thanks for reading everyone. Have a happy Friday! Also I have decided to keep my blog posts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hope that is alright with you all. Enjoy your weekend. XOXO

Sephora Play January Box

Long time no post friends. I received my Sephora Play box for the month of January about a week ago and I thought I would share the products that I received and give you a mini review on each product. So the Sephora play box is 10 dollars a month and you get 5 products to test out, you also get the play pass to earn an extra 50 beauty insider points if you buy a full size product that was in your box.

The first product I received was the Tarte Frxxxtion (It is spelled that way) stick which is a black exfoliating cleanser. I absolutely love this. I put this on my skin before I get on the shower when I remember to do so in the problem areas on my face and it really smoothes out my skin and clears up any acne I have had. I really want to purchase the full size of this, but I have used it almost every day and I still have so much left to use. The retail price for the full size is $22. Definitely try this product if you are looking for a great face exfoliator.
The next product is the Clinique almost lipstick in Black Honey. The color of this looks very dark when you take the top off but don’t let that scare you because it is very sheer. I think this is an okay product, but it isn’t something I reach to put on everyday. Maybe if it was a different color I would like it because it feels very moisturizing on the lips, but the color just turns me off to the product. The full size product retails for $17.
Next was the IT cosmetics cc+ color correcting full coverage cream + anti-aging hydrating serum with 50+ spf. I got the shade medium which is a tad bit too dark on my skin. I will say that I absolutely love this product. I have received a sample of this product before and I already knew I loved it. This product is great for days that I don’t want to wear makeup, but want to even out the look of my skin. This also seems to moisturize my skin and give it such a healthy glow. I wouldn’t recommend putting multiple layers to build up the coverage because it will start to look cakey since its supposed to look like your skin only better. I just add one layer and then set it with some powder. Such a great product! The retail price is $38 for the full size.
I also received the Tory Burch Love Relentlessly perfume. The packaging is so cute but my initial thoughts after spraying it is that it is so strong. It does fade away to a pretty scent after, but it is still too strong for my liking. I am starting to have a big collection of sample perfumes that I need to give away to friends or family since I don’t wear any of them. The description says that it is in the Floral fragrance family and has a top note of pink pepper, middle note of orris root, and base note of Patchouli. The 1.7 oz bottle costs $86.
Next, I have a small collection of hair masques that I have been too afraid to try because my roots get oily so easily that I don’t like to add anything to my hair that may make it oily or feel heavy. I received the OUAI hair treatment masque and read some of the reviews on Sephora’s website and decided to give it a try. I am SO SO glad I did. It smells phenomenal and I just put it near the ends of my hair and leave it on for about 5-10 minutes. I then rinse it out and my hair is so soft after it dries. Definitely love this product. I will have to buy the full size when I run out. The full size product which comes in single packets in one box is $32.
The last product I received was the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream. I have heard so many good things about Drunk Elephant skin care. They are pretty pricey, but I don’t think you should skimp on your skincare if you really want to take good care of the skin you have. This cream has been so good for my skin. It has evened out my skin tone, kept it so moisturized, and also feels so luxurious. It doesn’t really have a smell to it which I like because I don’t like skin care products that have a heavy fragrance to them. The full size product will run you about $60 dollars, but this product will go a long way since you don’t have to use a lot to cover your face and neck. I have the sample size and still have so much left even though I use it every single night. Will definitely be purchasing the full size product even though it is a splurge product.
Thank you all for reading and I hope you all enjoyed. If you are interested in makeup and trying out new products, I would definitely sign up for Sephora’s subscription box. There is a long waiting list, but it is worth it. Please subscribe to my emails and also like my Facebook page to get update every time I post. Have a great Wednesday everyone. XOXO

Morphe Eye Shadow Palette

I love trying out new eye shadow palettes and creating new eye looks. I am honestly just a makeup junkie. I love limited edition palettes and I prefer palettes with more neutral colors. When Morphe said they were releasing 2 limited edition palettes, I was so excited. They released the 25 A Copper spice and the 25 B Bronzed Mocha palette on December 26th. I went and ordered the 25 B palette. I was unsure of how the consistency of the Morphe palettes were since I have only ever ordered their brushes. I swatched some of the shimmer shades and just the lightest touch gives off a lot of pigment. They are so soft and they blend so beautifully. I have been wanting to try out one of their palettes because I have heard so many good things about them and they are so affordable. On Morphe’s Facebook page, they did say they will be restocking, but they are unsure how long the restock will take. It was 29.34 and that is with a discount I used. I just used Jaclyn Hill’s (A youtuber’s) discount code: jacattack. The shipping was around 7 dollars which is pricey considering it isn’t heavy. I received this within a week and a half, but just now got around to opening it up. Let me know if you want me to do a video on using this palette. This has beautiful colors and such great pigment. I can’t wait to try out more looks.
Below is the picture of the box, the actual palette, and swatches of some of the shimmers. Need I say more? These shimmers are gorgeous. Happy Friday everyone!
